Ingredients

1 large fresh lime 

1 fruit cup (7 oz.) Del Monte® Escapes Mango Strawberry-Rita, chilled

1 1/2 oz. tequila blanco or silver (3 Tbsp.)

1 tsp. orange liqueur, such as Cointreau, optional but recommended

1/2 cup ice cubes (about 4 or 5)

Garnish: Sea salt or Tajin rim, lime wedge, strawberry

Directions

  1. Pour 1 Tbsp. fine sea salt or Tajin onto a small plate. Cut a lime in half end-to-end; cut a wedge from one half for the garnish and rub it around the rim of the glass then dip the glass rim in the salt.  Cut a small slit in the juicy side of the lime wedge and fit it onto the rim of the glass; set aside.

  2. Juice the remaining lime pieces (2 Tbsp.) directly into the blender; add contents of Escapes cup, tequila, orange liqueur and ice.  Blend on high until smooth, about 30 seconds.  Pour into glass and enjoy. Cheers!

TIPS:

  • Chill the Escapes cups in the refrigerator at least 2 hours before making cocktail.
  • Strawberry Twist: Add 2 fresh strawberries to the blender for a pinker margarita with more strawberry flavor.
  • To squeeze the most juice from the lime: Before cutting the lime, place it on the counter; press and roll back and forth with the heel of your hand until it softens slightly. Then cut and squeeze.
